Dr. Tess Strickland, ND
Dr. Strickland has been practicing Naturopathic Medicine for over 16 years. She first became interested in natural medicine after suffering many health problems as a young child in Columbus, Ohio, and watching her southern roots family members succumb to chronic illnesses without relief. Finally, while living as an exchange student in a small German town, the village Naturopath completely restored her health and her belief in medicine. Although she already had plans to return to the US and study political science at Wellesley College in Boston, Mass, this experience had planted a seed. In college, she would avidly study and read anything to be found on natural medicine. In 1991, Dr. S. was back in Europe heading toward a professional life of diplomacy between West and East Germany. And then, an amazing thing happened! The Wall and the political forces that had separated East and West for decades were shockingly dismantled over just a few weeks. As Dr. S. headed back to the US with a big chunk of Wall in hand, her diplomatic plans were laid aside, and she was finally able to persue the interest that had been sparked in that year of burgeoning health. Trusting that life had a better plan, Dr. S headed to medical school to become a Nauropathic Physician.
Dr. Strickland graduated at the top of her class at Bastyr University Medical School in Seattle,WA. She interned at the world renowned Bastyr University Health Clinic, and was offered a residency there. Board certified by The American Association of Naturopathic Physicians and licensed by the Washington State Department of Health as a primary care physician, Dr. S holds a license for the full scope of practice in primary care which includes minor surgery, prescriptive rights, vaccinations, and laboratory testing and diagnosis.
